Downloading Teamspeak

Installing Teamspeak

To connect to scoutlink teamspeak you first need to install the client. We recommend using the computer client as it is free, though there is a teamspeak mobile app that costs about £1 if you really want to use your phone.

To install teamspeak on the computer go to teamspeak.com/downloads and download the client appropriate for you. Most people will want windows 64 bit.

Once downloaded just run the application that was downloaded to install it.

Configuring teamspeak

When you open teamspeak it will be empty and look this. We need to set a few settings first.

So click "Tools"

and then "Options"

Go to "Capture" on the left hand menu and click "Push-To-Talk" just under "Activation".

Next to the "Push-To-Talk" toggle, there is a grey box that probably says "No Hotkey Assigned".

Click that box.

A large grey box should appear telling you to press your chosen hotkey.

Now press whichever key you want to press in order to talk later.

Once you've done that the grey box should disappear. Click "OK"

Connecting to Scoutlink

From the main screen click "Connections" and then "Connect"

Fill in the server address as teamspeak.scoutlink.net

Set yourself a nickname

Click connect.

After a few seconds teamspeak should connect and look like this.

Using Teamspeak

The first thing you need to do, is join a channel.

To do this, just find one in the list on the left hand side that you want to join, and double click it.

Once in the channel, just press and hold the hotkey you assigned earlier to talk, and release to listen.

Simple as that!
